Build Strong Teams by Knowing Yourself First
Team success is not just about skills or tasks. It starts with how each person understands themselves. When you know your own strengths, limits and feelings, you can speak clearly and avoid misunderstandings. This simple self-awareness is called emotional intelligence – the ability to notice and manage emotions in yourself and others.
When you bring that awareness to a group, you create a space where people feel safe to share ideas. Listening without judging, and asking gentle questions, shows respect and builds trust. Trust makes the team quicker to solve problems and more willing to help each other.
Try to use this mindset today: notice one feeling you have during a meeting and share it briefly. It can open the door for others to do the same.
