Pause, Question, Decide
Critical thinking isn’t a lofty skill reserved for scholars; it’s a daily habit we can all nurture. When you notice a claim – whether in a news headline, a colleague’s suggestion, or your own inner dialogue – pause and ask: what evidence supports this, and what assumptions lie underneath?
By giving that question a moment’s space, you create a mental buffer that guards against snap judgments. Try looking at the same situation from two opposite angles – the one you instinctively trust and the one that challenges it. You’ll often discover hidden gaps or fresh ideas that sharpen your decisions. And the more you practise, the sharper this habit becomes.
