Anwar Demands Clean Immigration

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has publicly urged every staff member in Malaysia’s immigration department to act with honesty and reject any form of graft. Speaking in Kuala Lumpur on 21 July, he framed the appeal as part of a wider crackdown on corruption that has plagued public services and eroded public confidence. Anwar stressed that integrity is essential for fair visa processing, border security and the nation’s reputation abroad. He warned that corrupt practices will not be tolerated and called for swift internal audits and stronger whistleblower protections. The message aims to restore trust and signal a zero tolerance stance on misconduct.

The directive could tighten immigration checks, curb bribery, and improve public confidence in Malaysia’s border services.
