Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg urged all Sarawak‑based parties under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalition to stay firmly united. Speaking in Sibu on 16 May, he warned that fragmentation would dilute the state’s bargaining power with the federal government and risk sidelining Sarawak’s development agenda.
