By analysing mobile‑phone data, the team traced communications between the fighters and the hired contractors, confirming a covert supply chain of personnel and expertise. The report also uncovers a substantial role for the United Arab Emirates, which appears to be providing logistical backing and financing to the RSF. These findings expose a layered web of foreign involvement that is deepening the war, complicating diplomatic efforts and raising questions about the accountability of external actors in a conflict that has already displaced millions.
