Mind Lenses: Spotting Biases and Updating Models
We all navigate life with mental shortcuts – little lenses that help us decide quickly. Biases like confirmation bias or the availability heuristic colour what we notice, often steering us toward familiar ideas rather than fresh possibilities.
When you catch yourself leaning on a favourite model, pause and ask: is this the best map for today’s terrain? Swapping a stale pattern for a new perspective can turn a stumbling block into a stepping stone.
Think of your mind as a garden. Regularly weeding out old assumptions makes room for brighter ideas to grow. The more you tend to it, the clearer the view of what truly matters.
